First time buyer?

Options
I have previously had a mortgage but don't have one now and do not own a property. I assumed I would still come under the 'First time buyer' category as I'm not 'moving home' but have just read that being a first time buyer is for people who have never had a mortgage.

No idea what category I would come under when applying - any ideas?

  • If it's not the first time that you are buying then my understanding is that you cannot be classed as a first-time buyer.

Yes I gathered that much, what I need to know is what category I actually fall into, if anyone knows.

You're not a first time buyer.

But some lenders may be prepared to give you access to ftb rates. Although they are rarely beneficial.

So it depends on the individual lender.

Perhaps explaining your circumstances would help?
