where to buy herbs in bulk?

hi all

i am doing lots of bulk cooking in slow cooker with seasonal veg but seem to go through those small supermarket packets of dried herbs at an amazing rate so where is the best place to buy dried herbs in larger quantities?

is there an online shop that you use?

When i lived in a city i used indian supermarkets but now i live in the sticks i a struggling to find a shop to sell bigger quantities or the staples such as parsley, oregano, thyme, etc

I grow all these herbs myself and so next year i will just freeze them - but until they all grow in the summer i need a dried supply...

any idea?

thanks

You could try and search online for a supplier that sells in bulk.

The shop called The Range sells them in bulk too.

Asda do a huge tub of mixed herbs which are quite cheap (italian style mixed herbs, that is). Morrisons are also reasonable for large tubs of parsley, etc, too.

Can't wait til my herbs grow, either (still in the box, about to plant em any minute with my daughter to stick on the kitchen windowsill!), shop bought ones are so unpredictable and some are really dear!

Asda do refill capsule things at about 38p each. Lidl also sell the basics (basil, oregano etc) can't remember how much but def cheaper than the branded stuff. Otherwise healthfood shops are often cheaper for stuff like this.

Not sure how competitive they are since they are aimed more at selling medicinal herbs, but try https://www.baldwins.co.uk

I haven't ordered from them, but https://www.spice-master.com seems to have quite a big range of spices and you can buy in bulk - eg 500g of oregano for £2.50

I got bags of oregano and basil from Aldi some months ago for around 59p for 100g - long date of 2009 on them too.
