Buildings and contents insurance

Hi

Originally posted this on another thread but failed to get any response.

Has anyone had any success with Quidco for claiming a £120 fee for buildings insurance and then another £120 from a different insurance company for contents insurance?

The two separate quotes come in £50 more than a quote of buildings and contents together - however the £240 cashback would make it quite a sweet deal?

Any experience out there?

Thanks

This year I split my buildings and contents insurance. One I did with barclays and the other with esure. Both tracked and I was quids in. What you have to be prepared for is the fact that they may not track or pay up. Have to decide if you want to take the gamble.

Me too! I was actually paid £2 to get my contents with Esure!!!!!! The quote was £68 and they were offering £70 cashback!!!!! Then I got my buildings insurance with Lloyds TSB and it worked out about £10 after cashback!!!! Bargain!

My brother did both with Barclays and it worked fine. Got the money in his account two months later.

Just a word of warning we had two separate accounts with the same company and it was a nightmare when we came to claim. We constantly had to phone each 'company' they fought over who was responsible for what, different workmen etc. I'd never get anything other than a joint policy again whether it was cheaper or not. Claiming if you have a fire/flood etc is a stressful time anyway you certainly don't want it doubled.

Yes - we have got ours with Lloyds and Prudential. We've also got the car insurance with Lloyds too..we're quids in this year!

Although - I have to say in response to Jotos comment, having come in to the living room last July to find water dripping from a ceiling that doesn't usually have water dripping through it - it was bad enough doing the contents/ buildings insurance claims through the one company then - yikes I never thought about the fact there's now two involved! Yikes :(

last year Barclays would only pay up on 1 ( did both with them ) needless to say I will not use them again this year - My cheapest quote is privalage and an added bonus of £70 cash back quidco - so Im thinking about this on renewal

Quidco were no help trying to get the additional amount even though it tracked.

Hope this helps - Id go for the cheapest policy and if you get additional; cashback its a bonus

But have got £130 off pru car insurance through quidco - again they were the cheapest quote anyway
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T
