NHS interview Opthalmology/Orthoptic technician: test questions?

I have an interview for a Visual Field Technician (Band 3/4 dependent upon experience). The post also involves clerical and admin duties. Although I work for the NHS I have no direct training or experience in Opthalmology. The job specification states that training in the clinical aspects of the job will be given.

The interview process will include a "short hand written questionnaire". I would be grateful for any insight into what this test might involve?

Thank you.

I am not being picky, but because you have an interview etc, it woukd be worth spelling ophthalmology correctly.

I can't believe my grumpy reply is the only one you've got, so here's a bump to see if you can get some useful help from elsewhere.

it would be worth spelling 'would' properly too... Especially if you're going to criticise someone elses spelling...! But we could argue all day and this isn't helping the OP.

Thank you both for making me smile. I am perfectly happy for the spelling police to wander onto my thread; I'm often (silently) critical when I see spelling mistakes too 😉

On this occasion, however, I am only prepared to hold my hands up to slapdash typing and poor proof reading! Just as well the interview is not for the post of a secretary eh!

Nobody can know what the test will involve as all NHS Trusts and indeed all jobs, do something different. I've done a few tests for admin/nursing type jobs and they've all been different. The one similar thing about them is that they all very easy.

It is important that the OP knows how to spell ophthalmology and it may be that they don't realise that it does have that extra letter h in it. So they'd do as well to look at the word as spelt just in case they need to know it. It really ought to be pronounced with an 'of' at the start rather than 'op' but nobody does.

Thank you for your reassuring and useful feedback t0rt0ise.

For the record, your Honour, can I just say again that I do in fact know how to spell ophthalmology; what I don't know how to do is type competently! I am sure there is an equal argument for accuracy when typing so whichever defence I raise I am no doubt, at the very least, guilty of oversight. :D

    I would suspect:

Some questions on optics to GCSE/A-Level standard
How to deal with "difficult" members of the public
    Equality & Diversity
    Health & Safety
