Is Natwest MRP (mortgage repayment cover) a PPI

I have Natwest MRP (mortgage repayment protection) thats £24.30 per month and has been paid for over 6 years, is this a PPI that would not benefit me with me being Self Employed and offers cover that actually would not do anything for me ? Or is it a standard cover required for mortgages be it employed or self employed.
Many thanks for reading.

Check the policy terms and conditions.
Policies that pay an income if you're too ill to work often do cover self-employed people.
Policies that pay an income if you're made redundant often don't cover self-employed people.
From the name yours sounds like it probably will cover you. But the only way to be certain about the policy you have is to check its T&Cs (or give NatWest a call and ask them).0 -

it is MPPI. What makes you think you are not covered as you are self employed (most MPPI do cover the self employed and the natwest booklet on the product indicates self employed are covered)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
