Please Help! Triton Credit wrong default date

Hi

I had an overdraft with RBOS which I ran satisfactorily. However they allowed an old business credit card debt which i had personally guaranteed to be taken from my personal overdraft putting me over my limit. They issued me with a notice for repayment which I could not do. The debt was given to Triton Credit. This was all in about 2007. I have virtually no original paperwork except a default notice from 2008.

I made an arrangement with Triton which I adhered to and the debt was eventually settled by agreement in 2010. Despite my paying regularly during this time, when I looked at my credit reports, Triton have said I defaulted the month before I settled! This is in 2010.

I have written to both RBOS and Triton but they have both ignored my letters. What can I do?

I need to apply for a mortgage and so really need to get this sorted.

Google "ICO default guidelines'. This shows when defaults should be applied.

did you send your complaints signed for?

How long ago did you complain?

after 8 weeks of no reply, you can refer to Financial Ombudsman service. If you sent one letter not signed for, likely they just ignore. you could refer to FOS after 8 weeks and enclose the original letter, they will then look into it.

Send them a copy of the default notice. Ask them to correct the entry.
