Well will our sage to get a new mortgage ever end!
We have had a nightmare trying to buy a new house, we currently have several buy to let's that are tenanted with the Nationwide and have applied for a residential mortgage with them, so far so good.
We've jumped through hoops to get were we are but they have just asked for some more paperwork, a reference from out current landlord.
We relocated a couple of years ago and have been renting the same house for over 2 years but the Nationwide want a reference from the landlord and my worry is that if we don't get the mortgage we will be issues with a section 21 and be out on our ear in 2 months.
The new house isn't even finished yet, am I been unreasonable in saying I don't want to go through the letting agents to get a reference, it's not as though the Nationwide do not know that we are good with money as we have had mortgages with them for years and they have bank statements showing the payment of rent going out every month for the last 6-7 months at least as that's how many bank statements we have sent them.

seems like Nationwide has a habit of asking ridiculous amount of paperwork...0

Well it seems they will accept 12 months bank statements so that's what the're going to get. Another 5-7 working days for them though so probably another 2 weeks delay before we have an offer.
It would probably have taken a week to get a reference from the landlord so no point in getting him involved if we don't have to.0
