Qu. for crafters - can i use vellum in an inkjet printer?

Hi,

I've just bought a pack of white vellum A4 sheets from The Range. The packaging says Anita's Crafts, does anyone know if I'll be able to use it in my printer? Thanks

  • Hi

I printed our wedding invites on orange vellum - I never thought to ask, I just bunged it in!

So yes, it's possible! Oh, just be careful while the ink dries as it seemed to take a teeny bit longer to dry than normal paper ;)

An inkjet printer will give a poor image on vellum. The ink will spread (feather) and it will take ages to dry and will smudge.

It won't be a problem for the printer, but the ink may smudge off easily, if it is being handled or gets wet. Check some scrapbooking sites to see if there are ways round it.

i have printed on vellum many times and as long as it isn't coated (like metalic or anything like that) you should be fine.

the ink does take longer to dry so just don't touch the printed sheets for a while. just let them drop out of the printer.

I had no trouble with the ink spreading :T
