Shouldn't be - for service issues, they have a 3 step complaints process - www.fos.org.uk/publications/factsheets/complaints-about-our-service.pdfgraham1449 wrote: »I have the trail of email destruction if anyone would like some entertainment.
Presumably we will see you went all the way then ?0 -

1. You got more.
2. You got less.
3. You got nothing.
4. You got the same.
The service does not exist to give you more. It exists to rule on what a fair outcome to a complaint should be. In this case they've stated that the bank concerned has done wrong but the recompense offered to correct things is appropriate.
If you don't agree, take it to court.0 -
It's taken 9 weeks to try and raise a complaint with them and get a reference number for a complaint about a credit card company.
But another complaint about PPI is progressing ok in the same amount of time.0 -
I agree that FOS is not fit for purpose. I was judged out of time in relation to a long term investment, despite the fact that the Business had concealed relevant information from me. A senior ombudsman incorrectly found that the Business was not obliged to include the FOS's explanatory leaflet in its Final response, and, when I queried why sections of the Fsa handbook helpful to my position were being ignored, I was told that the Ombudsman had chosen to rely on a different section.
Apart from judicial review, the Ombudsman is unaccountable for its errors. Hence, the poor standard of service.
It seems to me that, although the Business had a history of being fined by the FSA for unacceptable sales practices, FOS bent over backwards to accommodate its objections to my application being considered.0 -
I would totally agree that the FOS is the most bais in favour of the banks there is.i had a 5 year fight 3 diffrent adjucators first one upheld my complanet about interest charges and alleged missed payments but the account was sold and and new defaults added on .the second got the accounts brought back but could not find the missing 450 pound that I had proved to the first was sent and cashed by them by getting copies of cashed cheques from my bank , then told word for word what the adjudicator had agreed by the firms complanet department 2 weeks before her response repeating what the complainets person said even thou first one had agreed the payments were made . The third one looked in to how this was displayed on credit file dismissed took it to the ombudsman man 6 months latter got a letter rejecting my complanet and he was excising the ombudsman right not to look at full complanet do to timescale now nearing 8 years and no new evidence ,what a joke0

Not really a post about the FOS but just to let people know the original post was from 2012.
It might be worth the last 2 posters creating new threads?0 -
