I realise some of it goes to charity, but I'm sure it's a very small percentage. And, although I'm a charitable soul myself, I don't believe that prices should be hiked up to an unaffordable level by this supposed forced donation to charity.

What about people who'd love to see them, they're their favourite band, yet because of the stupid prices, they can't afford to go?

That's hardly being very charitable to their own fans is it?

If you ask me, it's a rip off. Pure and simple.

See also the Take That "premium" tickets - sold for £45 each for seats that could be on an upper tier right at the back of the venues. Disgusting.

I think ticket prices over here are starting to mirror those in Ireland, where seeing a big band at even a medium sized venue costs an arm and a leg.

apparently on the fans website the presales in the states the tickets have been really poor ones and there is uproar regarding this.
£53 quid is a bit of a swizz!!!
wait till friday and take a gamble

Yup, I'll wait until Friday too, unless a pre-sale code comes my way in the meantime :)

Genuine question - I've seen a lot of postings like this to do with concert tickets. I honestly can't see where the bargain is. As people have pointed out, it's all just variations on various types of rip-off. Most of the profits will probably be spent on illegal drugs, anyway. Why are concert ticket sales posted in the grabbit category?

Personally I usually post pre-sales for gigs. Whilst these don't circumnavigate the ludicrous charges for tickets these days, they do allow people to buy tickets before the public sale starts. This means they have more chance to get tickets, and less chance that they'll need to use toutbay.....

So that's why I post it - and it may not be an initial bargain. But if it means people pay face value for tickets, and not e-bay prices, then it's very much a good deal imo.
  • My initial excitement at this tour has been replaced with disgust with the way money is being extracted from genuine fans. £53 pounds just to get access to presale tickets...No thanks. I may have a look on Friday or I may save my money to see some other great '80's bands who no longer have the same pulling power but still sound great and charge £20 a ticket or less. Missing this gig won't mean that "There's a hole in my Life". (excuse the pun)!
    Regards,

Actually, it really would serve them right if these didn't sell out. Of course, that isn't going to happen but I do think the band/their management are showing Sony-like arrogance at the moment.

Dont really see the fuss with this, joining the fan club appears to be a waste of time anyway, it states your account will be up and running in 10 days, pretty sure all tickets would have gone by then!

Does anyone actually know how much the tickets are going to be before everyone gets angry about them?!

I think that you pay the £53 join up fee at the same time as you purchase the tickets ie in the same transaction.
