How about a contractor you've done work for in the past?
http://www.cscs.uk.com/faq/who-can-sign-the-cscs-application-form-if-the-applicant-is-self-employed/Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
What NVQs have you got?
To be honest, you can get anyone to sign that form - do you know anyone at all in the industry? If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
were are you working security, are u doing construction sites or done any as any foreman / boss will sign it if you was security on they site
im a guard and its boring and lone working is killing me. so im doing same as u just goin look for labour work0 -
Why do you need some one in the industry to sign for the green card, as for NVQ they don't even come into it.
The test fee is £17.50, you send off you pass certificate with photos and ID they post you the card, you can use the other part of the test certificate straight away as proof of having done a CSCS test.
Unless you have other skills labouring are rock bottom rates everywhere as far as i'm aware.0 -
Russe11-First off,for all most every CSCS card an employer has to fill in section C on the form. Also for some cards Proof of NVQ's can be used some times instead of an employers signature.
Secondly-I know the test fee is £17.50, read my first post again I've already passed the test. Also you get one piece of paper at the end of the test with your name, reg number etc telling you if you've passed not two and no certificate, unless thats what you mean by certificate.
Thirdly-you dont send off any certificate as proof of passing as they've already got that on file as soon as you pass the test, I know this because I've spoken to them on the phone.
And as for labouring wages are rock bottom at the minute, they'll be at least mw, same as security which I'm doing at the minute, but which I hate.
all I can assume is that they must do it different at the test centre I went to or they have changed the system in the last couple of weeks then.0 -

The system has always shown a H&S pass or fail - it's all booked on the same system and so it has always been able to tell you whether someone has passed or failed it.
OP - call CSCS and ask them who signs it when you aren't currently employed and have a L1 NVQ.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Hi
I am currently unemployed :rotfl:and attending a course by A4E at my local college after a referral from my job centre. A4E get the funding and after the training (Mon-Friday) 10am-3pm we take a mock test then get a voucher to give to the local cscs test centre after booking the test. Warning its a one shot voucher so if your late or miss your test you have to pay. Anyway hope this was of some use.:money:0
