Being chased for some old debt

Hi guys & gals.

Right basically i owed hbos ( halifax ) i think £600 odd , and having a few years past they defaulted me for it. I only found this out after didtching credit expert and signing up with experian.

the debt was cleared in nov last year year, but now ive got myself on the eletrol roll, This debt collector has come out the wood work trying to reclaim the money.

The company is RED debt collection servies stating i have 10 days to arrange payment and if i call now i can reduce my debt by 50% with a monthly repayment of £20. to be frank it sounds like there on the desperate side or are trying to push their luck knowing they are breaking the law.

can Anyone Advise on the situation. Isnt there a letter that i can send to the company stating under a certain law they are no authorised etc to be hasslingme for a defaulted debt..

Don't really need a template for this. You have every right to tell 'em to go **** themselves!

It's probably one they have had on file for a while and now chasing it now the OP has popped out somewhere. Basically tell them to sod off as its been paid, so the debt is denied and they must had it back to the creditor .

Just tell them you have paid it and you deny this debt. They will have to sort it out with the creditor.

Yeah im just going to ignor the letters now. I understand that RED are a company within lowell. So more than likely there just trying their luck.

Whats the chance of them coming to knock on the door ? which isnt a problem ill just escort them off my premesis like a naughty school boy by the ears
