Hi All,

Currently paying £820 a month into funds below. Thinking of increasing % into Jap, Far East, BRIC?? - need to check what funds are avaible to me.

SL BlackRock Aquila HP UK Equity Pension Fund - 30%
Standard Life European Equity Tracker Pension Fund - 20%
Standard Life Japanese Equity Pension Fund - 10%
Standard Life Managed Pension Fund - 10%
Standard Life North American Equity Pension Fund - 20%
Standard Life Property Pension Fund - 10%

Any comments would be appreciated on mix - good or noy??

You might want to add some sort of general Emerging Market fund, First State and Aberdeen, tend to be the best on this, but not sure if you have these available to you.

Impossible to say without knowing your age, goals and attitude to risk.
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

Sorcerer - It's a company stakeholder and the choice of funds is limited and with SL funds I get very low AMC. I will have a double check to see what else is available.

gadgetmind - I'm 42. Looking to have a retirment income of approx £20k in todays value. Below is what I have to date. When I will retire I guess will depend on how my pensions/other investments perform and when I can get to the income required.

The pension below - approx value £55k
Stakeholder - contracted out pot - approx £35k
Another couple of stakeholders - approx value £10k (do not add to these)
25 years NI contributions, so on track for full basic state pension.

Attitude to risk would be 8 out of 10 so as to try and get to the final goal as quickly as possible.

I need to look at the contracted out and other pots but wanted to start with the one I'm currently paying into, may well be worth speaking with an IFA to see about consolidation.

Do have other savings totalling approx £70k. As per original question any comments on current fund choice would be appreciated.

What options do you have? The funds you have chosen look a bit staid for your claimed risk tolerance. Would agree with EM exposure and also suggest a specific Far East fund with small companies funds in any of the areas you currently have general equity funds.
