Help! Interfacing stuck on iron!!

Yikes! I am making a skirt and today got to the waistband, which needed iron-on interfacing. In the gloom of my dark bedroom I managed to put the interfacing on back to front - result = lots of sticky interfacing 'glue' stuck to bottom of iron! :eek: How can I clean this off???
