here's our story
my girlfriend and her brother and sister inherited the family house . one third share .
my girlfriend and i are buying the house and have to buy out the brother and sister
we have taken out a mortgage with hsbc to cover the cost of paying off one share and paying cash from our house sale to pay off the other
complications complications
yourconveyancer are acting on hsbcs behalf but have said they're not acting for us , we assumed they were as the bank told us they had to be used .
the family solicitor.representing the brother and sister , is insisting on a minute of agreement before the transfer of title can be processed and is saying we ,as buyers, have to pay for this .
is it normal for buyers to pay sellers solicitors for such things ? should yourconveyancer be dealing with this for us ? should we hire another solicitor to sort this out ?
this is a house sale in scotland so maybe different to england and wales

If you weren't using HSBC then you could just use the family solicitor and it would all be a piece of !!!!. But you would have had to pay for that whereas I expect the HSBC solicitors are free?
So yes, it's normal to pay for legal work to be done...The J is a Financial Advisor-This site doesn't check anyone's status and as such any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice. Always seek professional advice.0
