Not a win but...

Not a win but I would like your views on this competition aimed at businesses, however it seems the winner does not run a business, https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3910323 the company specifically mentioned "Does your business have a hard working, dedicated team? You could reward them with a free Nintendo Wii from Tradeshift! Just like our Facebook Page and comment on this post telling us what's the longest you've waited for an unpaid invoice and what was the best excuse. the comment with the most 'likes' by 12pm Friday 20th April WINS." and the winning comment was "I used to run the books for a cake business (birthday cakes, special events etc) ....there was a cheeky chappy that used us and had ran up a huge bill, which had panned over around 6 months...when I chased this i was told "you cant have your cake and eat it"" So if this person no longer runs a business should the comment have been allowed? What do you think?

Not really to be honest, but Facebook comps are like that. Not always fair.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T
  • Considering your entry was liked by football groups within the last hour of the competition not one of which were genuine groups but had coincidentally been made withing that said hour I think you have nothing to moan about and I congratulate the ACTUAL winner !!!

I never said I entered the competition in question, you must be putting 2 + 2 together and getting 6! I was just wandering if the promoters had done something wrong by announcing someone the winner when clearly they aren't running a business and the competition was aimed at businesses. And regarding the football groups, anyone can make a Facebook group, it could have been people the person knew, with one group belonging to 1 person and another group belonging to another and so one, maybe these people didn't wish to have their own profiles on public display.

The person who did win though is an active comper (who uses these forums BTW) and asked her friends to vote for her.

Looking at the people who liked her comment compared to those who liked the person in second place (Richard Oliver - coincidence? Maybe.) I think hers looks more real. I mean, football "fan" pages all created the same day?

I recognise almost all of the people who voted for Carlas, and have most of them on my friends list.

But I do wonder why they've given it away like that when they said company. Maybe check the T&Cs?
    Thanks to all posters :A
