Can we get a mortgage?

Thanks for the reply Dave. Unfortunately, no friends or family members have moved in years so we will have to resort to google for an IFA.

Do you mean that we would have to pay a fee for advice and for the product that we get in the end (if we are lucky)? Can you give us a ball park idea of figures - is it a percentage of mortgage amount or flat rate normally? When we talk to someone it would give us an idea of what is realistic or a rip off.

Would Nationwide be a no go for us?

Nationwide would be unlikely to be my selection, although without undertaking a full fact not a good call to be recommending or not recommending lenders on here..

In terms of fees, again it is broker specific. Given the relative low value of the mortgage, I would think most fair brokers would also apply a fee of £250-£500 directly to you.

If this is upfront, ensure it is refundable and ensure all of the paperwork state this..
