Place name Cards

I went to a wedding last year where there two lots of 'Chris and Barbara', and there was a bit of confusion as to which couple was on which table... It turned out one of the Barbaras was a grandmother of the bride or groom and on the table plan & place cards they had listed her as 'Nana Smith' (or whatever surname it was)... Obviously the couple knew her as Nana but she had looked for her first name! So if you have a few guests who share a name, I think surnames are a good idea.MFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0

Oh my, take a deep breath, OP! It really doesn't matter...just put what you want!
I've never been to a wedding where someone didn't find their seat because of the place name cards!
I've also never seen anyone stalking from table to table to make sure that all the name cards are written in the same format.0 -
I've put full names on the table plan, but then just single names on the name cards. Didn't even think about it haha.
But I did put Bride and Groom, and think I will change it to Mrs Shaw now0 -

Paying an artist/designer for handwritten cards can be very expensive, I've written my own software solution for Place Name Cards which might be of interest to some forum members...

Same! Our parents are having their 'official' titles too, but as as our wedding is pretty informal we haven't used surnames on the other place cards. We've just added the initial of the surname where there's more than one Emma or Steve, for example.
To be honest, I didn't think about it - we just did it! Hope it works...LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
We did full names, it made it a lot easier for my BMs who ended up having to set out the tables, especially as we had 4 toms, 3 matts, 4 roberts etc.0

Yes I think for the table plan we will have to at least put surname initials for those with the same name! ThanksMarried my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0
