Got a feeling it something to do with using hairspray, but don't try it yet, somebody will be on here shortly to give you the correct answer.

    Hi webitha,

We have an older thread that should help:

Remove Biro mark from Cream Leather HELP!

I'll merge your thread with that one later to keep all the suggestions together.

  • I read on one of the older threads on here about using hairspray to get out biro. My mum tried milk, didn't work and i tried neat fairy liquid which also failed.
I've got a cream leather sofa and have been and brought a travel size tin of basic firm hold hairspray. Also have 2 year old who loves finding biros and drawing on everything in sight! Doubt this will be the last time I have to clean it off!!!
Sprayed it on, wiped it off and got left with a big sticky patch!!!
Is there a knack to getting it off? The biro that is. Do I have to leave the spray to dry before cleaning off? Is it just spray and wipe several times?

    Any ideas?

Hairspray- I spray on, leave about 20 seconds and wipe off with a damp cloth then wipe with a wet cloth straight afterwards to take the chemicals back off. I usually just repeat as needed.

Oh and hide the biros! Try those magnetic drawing boards, I also only used pencil to write apart from one biro in my bag after the 'incident'. Tends to be me now they are older leaving a pen on the seat etc and having to get the hairspray out!

One more tip, use cheap hairspray, these ones that are kind to your hair don't work!
One day I might be more organised...........
