Im after some more advice to give to a friend. She worked for 10 yrs in marketing then decided to have a career change to hospitality, working for the last 5 yrs both here and abroad and gaining a degree at the same time.
The thing is that she's really been struggling for the last year to get anything within hospitality over here, and can't afford to fund herself abroad again. So she's looking at trying for jobs within customer services/customer facing roles as that's what she's always enjoyed most in both careers, but she's unsure how to explain her career change and subsequent attempts at applying for these roles.
I've suggested putting a short personal statement on her CV explaining her enjoyment of customer relations. Does anyone have any other ideas or pointers that could help?
Many thanks

I would just say she is a people person, enjoys customer service and would like to develop her career in this area using skills and experience gained in her previous career. Under the pervious job tital describe her previous experience and skills in customer relations. Its a different sector but there are similar basic skills involved. Ive gone from one career to another but have just focused on the skills from the previous job that relate to the desired job. Good luck to your friend.0
