Timberland sizing?

I'm hoping someone who's bought Timberland shoes/boots can help me?
I see that Timberlands come in half sizes (4.5, 5.5, 6.5..), which is convenient for me, as I take a half-size, but I was wondering if they tend to come up big, small or true to size? I think I read somewhere that the size on the actual shoe label is an American size, and might need 'translating' into a UK size.
Just wanted to get an idea before buying.

My classic boots are true to size but dds are slightly big, however we have very different shape feet, probably best to try on if you can.Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

I have the leather ones and they're a UK 6, they're actually the kids ones - I'm a size 7 so I would say they come up big as the 6 is a good fit on me.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

Thanks for the replies. I know some makes tend to come up a bit small (eg Kickers) so I thought I'd ask. I'd be looking to buy them on the internet, and just wanted to get a general idea of how the sizing is.0

You could still try on in a shop though;) they are quite expensive as you know so you would want to be sure and returns can be a pain and sometimes cost you:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -

I was tempted to do this with some Fly London shoes, - go into the shop and just slip one on for size. Bit cheeky, but I do LOVE their wedge sandals and they're very pricey brand new in the shops.
