Hi Wanchai, if you want a really simple veil they are quite easy to make. Catherine was in the same position - every one she looked at was too 'flashy' she wanted a simple, ungathered, 2 tier veil. We bought some tulle and cut it to fit, then I edged it with tiny seed beads to give it enough weight to hang properly. If you didn't want beads you could edge it with a very narrow ribbon instead. The whole thing cost less than £20 and looks great. If you go down this route it takes a little time and effort but you get exactly what you want, and it is unique. If you want more info I am happy to help. I even have enough materials left to make another fingertip length ivory veil if anyone wants it!

My mum made her wedding veil and it's beautiful, very simple but stunning. Apparently it was very easy too. I'll be wearing it when I get married but if I wasn't I'd probably go for something from www.theweddingveilshop.co.uk, as they have very simple ones like this http://theweddingveilshop.co.uk/id402.html and the prices are really reasonable.

By the way, sorry about last week, I was having a really bad day and felt very vulnerable so over reacted - feel really bad now.

Hey, no need to apologise, I was having a bad day too so I was equally to blame :)

Oooh, I fancy having a go at making one!!! LOL. Any chance that you would sell me your material? x

I am happy to send you the material for the cost of postage, as it is just left over from making Catherine's (I was expecting to have 2 goes but got it at the first attempt). It is a quite dark ivory, though, champagne really, so it might not be the right colour for you - this is what it looks like up close with the beads sewn on. IMAG0416.jpg

That is most kind of you! I would of course return it to you or pass it on to another bride if it were the wrong colour :) Are you sure? x

Of course, pm me your address and I will send you the tulle. I washed the piece I used 3 times in fabric conditioner to remove the stiffness, as we wanted it very soft, like a mantilla, and it came up beautifully. Once I had finished sewing the beads on I washed it again and now it is hanging in the wardrobe waiting to have the tiara sewn on it
