Just a quick one, trying to work out weather I will have to make payments each month for bankruptcy, how much are you allowed to have to live off each week will the OR question why I spend 100 pound a week on shopping, this includes nappies, formula, toiletries, food etc somethings I spend more the price of shopping nowadays is horendous, only had 6 bags the other day and came to 114 nearly had a heartattack, also can I include my sons swimming and football, I hope I don't have to take this away from him, it does not have much detail on the outgoings of the bankruptcy forms this is all so complicated head is banging already, do they include tax credits, CB in your income I also have to pay nursery fees although get 70% from tax credits which helps without it I wouldnt be able to work all so confusing hope this HB comes through quick, this is all im waiting on now they don't tend to rush either might give them a call to see if can speed up the process then I can book my date with the courts.

I just want to say that the support and lovely replies on here are really encouraging and has helped me durng the time I've been thinking about going BR and not doing anything about it.
As someone who has lived without credit for 8 years now I can confirm it is possible, hard at times but definitely possible and has made me be more aware of spending etc. When I haven't got it, I can't spend it.
I don't have young children though but I know what expenses they can incur so I wish you the best of luck. You will be a stronger person at the end of it.
I watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel last week and there's a great quote in it which says "It will be alright in the end and if it is not yet alright, it is not yet the end" (said in an Indian accent of course).
It's never as bad as you think! :o

My interview was AWFUL. I went in very relaxed thinking it was a non judgemental interview and she was bloody terrible to me, told me that she suspected financial misconduct because I let my partner file all the taxes and expenses while i worked like crazy and supported us both, and I should have taken my responsibility as a director of my own limited company more seriously and she would ask HMRC to consider additional restrictions of between 2 and 15 years against me.
    Real !!!!!! she was

She then told me I would probably be coming in for a face to face interview to find out more about how I could have let this happen. I could understand if I had been bankrupt before and it was a repeat performance but first time bankrupt? Really?

    My questions are:

what can happen if I tell them no i'm not going to relive all the details of my failed relationship and justify to them why I let my ex control the finances while I worked, commuted 5 hours a day and studied at the weekends in medical school

Does the official receiver review your outgoings by looking at bank statements and receipts etc annually? Will I have to deal with this witch every year?
