Can you make waffles without a waffle maker

Ds wants to have waffles for brekkie sometimes. I like the idea of making my own as I know they would be better for him. We had waffle maker years ago and hardly used it and so gave it away. I dont really want to buy another but I heard you can make them in a sandwich toaster. Anyone make waffles without the maker ? Would love to know how. TIA x

            You can just cook the batter like pancakes in a pan - don't look the same but quite yummy

            you could use metal cake cutters/ or egg shapers and pour batter into those whilst cooking
