Not only am I not allowed to put my webpage address on this forum, but it would appear that others can not reference it either. The link from another forum member to my webpage has also been deleted. Perhaps the mods will now remove all posts which references to any website from the forums just to make a level playing field. I have spent many hours working on the circuits, the write-up and schematics. If this is how I am to be treated then I'll find a place in a more sympathetic forum.

Dave, from the recent posts, it would appear you are very much appreciated. Keep smiling.

When I asked about getting the PV FAQ thread made 'sticky' the administrators were absolutely brilliant. Very quick and extremely helpful. It therefore seems a shame that they are apparently unhappy here, but haven't let you (or us) know what the problem is exactly.

Hope it gets sorted, or as other posters have suggested we'll just have google (other search engines are available) your name etc. What fun!

I've just started to add details about an 'excess energy level detector' based on the flash rate of the generation meter. The initial circuit diagram is there and hopefully, tomorrow, will be the circuit write up.

Thanks for all the support in what is a very unhappy time with the moderators.

That's great, thanks for all your work Dave.

I have no idea why the Mods are being so over-zealous on this one, perhaps if one of them is reading this thread they could do Dave the courtesy of explaining (preferably publicly so the rest of us can also understand the reasoning) why his attempts to help the community with no gain for himself have been blocked.

I shall be bookmarking Dave's site for future use when I have time to build the circuit.
  • Hi dave I'd love to here more about it shame they won't let you put up a link its not as if you are selling the units how do others get round putting up links to sights that sell stuff to save dosh

It seems a totally arbitrary policy !

Recently (in another thread) I was able to put up a link to the Land Registry website and have previously shown links to the 'Planning Portal'. As a taxpayer, I am of course part owner of those sites but my links weren't deleted. :j

    Hi all,

Thank you for your interest in the designs. At least my MSE Profile home page remains intact.

I have just updated the Generation Switch circuit and circuit description.

The Generation Switch turns out to be a very simple circuit to construct and I hope to put strip-board details on the web soon. Hopefully a photograph later today.

Unfortunately, I may well be off-line most of next week as I am having work done to my office at home.

I see the moderators have now removed the picture I posted showing details of one of the circuit boards I designed. They have also removed posts from other forum members who are offering to PM my details whilst I am away from home next week. This is beyond any form of interference, censorship and intimidation I have ever experienced on this and any other forum.

They continue to ignore requests to explain their actions.

I have at all times tried to be polite, helpful and informative in all my posts over the past six years whilst I have been an active member on the MSE forums.

I have enjoyed debating, questioning and challenging forum members whenever I felt I had something to offer. Now I am at a point where I give up.

I have never shouted on this or any forum before but
UNLESS THE MODERATORS GIVE A VALID EXPLANATION FOR THEIR ACTIONS OR I AM GIVEN A FULL AND ABJECT APOLOGY FOR THEIR ACTION, THIS WILL BE MY LAST POST ON THIS FORUM.

I don't expect any response from the Moderators so I make my farewells in advance.

With best wishes to all the decent folk out there.

Does seem a shame that this is being blocked - my only thought is to wonder whether the mods are more nervous about people messing with electrics and causing damage or injury. I'm aware of the difference between electronics and mains electrics, but mods on a moneysaving site may not be that confident, and may be concerned that if someone uses these designs wrongly and has a problem, they might end up liable for allowing the link. Trouble is the "We don't explain" policy is pretty universal under the excuse that they don't have the resource to explain why they delete each item.

What we need is someone with a website that can act as a link base for these sorts of projects so that those of us in the know can then point people there for onward linking to other sites!

I've sent an e-mail to the moderating team to ask what can be done to resolve this issue.

Given that the ball we are playing with belongs to MSE (in fact it's their ball, pitch, stadium and town), the fault must lie with us, in some way.

So I've asked if they could explain the problem, and what we need to do to resolve it.

I've PM'd Dave, who'll be away now for a week, and he was happy for me to post this:

Hi, sorry to be a nuisance, but there seems to be a problem with some of the posts on this thread:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=3921935

As you’ll see, Mr Fowler, who is now retired, is trying to produce some circuits that MSE’ers can use to help improve the efficiency or use of their PV systems.

He is/has spent some considerable time on this, and is giving all of the information away free, with detailed explanations and help.

Unfortunately, any links he, or others, post to the web-site are being continually deleted. Whilst we are clearly breaching some rule, we do not know what it is exactly that we are doing wrong. Therefore, we can’t find the appropriate solution.

Could somebody please explain exactly what is wrong with the posts, and what we should (or shouldn’t) do, in order to move forward. Nobody is trying to be clever, or sneaky, or breach any rules, and we appreciate that order must be maintained, so clarification would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your help.

    Martyn (Martyn1981)

I've already had an automated response that it is being looked at. Hopefully, we'll get a reply asap on thread. If not I'll update as soon as I hear anything.
