Triton Debt Collections

I have a debt on a credit card that has been passed to Triton, I managed to make an agreement to pay them £1 a month as I am currently unemployed, however I have other debts which I am trying to keep up with and its easy to lose track of who to pay when. I asked Triton if I can pay them by standing order and they said that they do not take standing order. Has anyone else had dealings with them? I am sure they want me to default on my payment arrangement so they can come after me. Also I noticed from my telephone bill, each time I ring them to make a payment it costs me £1 in call charges. Do you know if they take standing orders and what account details are to pay them? I can't find anything on their website.

  • Hi tunc

I am paying back a Mint loan through Triton and had no trouble setting up a standing order with them.
Not sure about the account details as it may depend who they are collecting for.
I informed them that all correspondence is to be by letter which is the standard advice given by all who are skilled in dealing with these people.
I have had no problems so far - they requested that my payments be reviewed after 6 months and I informed them that I could only pay the same.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks, it seems odd that they keep telling me that they don't accept standing orders. The original debt is with Natwest. Triton also told me that they would review in six months, circumstances havent changed so I hope they will allow the same payment arrangement. I will ask them again about standing order next time I ring them.

Did they tell you they don't take SO over the phone or in writing? If on the phone, write to them and complain. They may tell you stuff on the phone they would never put in writing.

    hi
im with triton for my tesco cc i just phoned them up and when they answer i simple said i need the so details, i would just phone them and say you need the account no and sort code so that you can set the so
dont ask them if you can be assertive ive found once i started stating clear what i wanted from companies like triton they are far easier than when i would ask them if i could do something etc
    good luck
