Tax rebate

Wonder if someone can help>OH started work December she didnt pay Tax for first 2 months.
This month got taxed
Figures are Gross pay 858.68 paid tax of 166.91. + NI

Now will we be able to claim this back as she will not have earnt enough this tax year?
If so do we need a form or do we just contact Tax office?

Or is she not entitled to any rebate?
Remember only people who say money doesn't matter have already got enough

In a month or two your employer will give you a certificate of pay and tax deducted for the year 2006/07 (form P60).

Some time after 5 April you need to get together details of any other income you have received and tax you have suffered in the year from 6th April 2006 to 5th April 2007.

Does your income for 2006/07 before tax amount to less than £5,035? If so you are entitled to a refund. Get form R40 from your tax office or from HMRC's web site. Fill in the form. Send it to your tax office. HMRC will send you a refund.

Even if your income exceeds £5,035 you might be entitled to a refund.

On the facts given that's as good as I can do.

    Good luck.
