Panic buying stamps...

Does anyone think that this has been a brilliant marketting ploy?
Yes, the prices will be going up, but the vast amount of people going out and buying more stamps than usual (cue man who bought over £4000 worth..) has probably boosted their profits by millions!
There are reports of people buying £200's worth at a time! When these people would maybe buy a book of 6 every month of so...
I think I'll suck up to the increase, instead of panic buying £1000's of stamps that I may or may not use in the future.

i used to say i would gladly pay 60 pence for a stamp but that was when we had a service
my postie left 12 months ago as he was sick of the bosses squeezing everything dry
i try my best not to use royal snail because the service where i am cannot get any worse
think 2 weeks for a letter across one county
marketing ploy? yes probably but it might have misfired too yes?0 -

I'm not buying more than usual.
We run a business and I know how mnany stamps we need per month, so it makes sense to forward buy for that. There is no question of "may not use"!0 -
Businesses, I can understand, but the general public, not so much.
There are people out there who are buying 100's when they don't even send letters much, 'just in case'.0 -
My husband bought a book of 100 stamps. When we sat and worked out how much it would have cost at the new prices we bought another 100. We will use them so as far as I am concerned it is money saved not panic buying.0
