Totally confussed first time buyer!

Me and my girlfriend have found a house for £64000, we have a deposit upto £10000. We have done a halifax mortgage promise, they have offered us £75000, so there are no problems there.
We think we will go for one of the halifax first time buyers mortgages! they seem to be the simplest to setup.
Is this a wise move? are there any better deals out there for first time buyers?
Thank you..

Well, if you want to know if there are any better deals out there you should go and see a whole of market independant broker.
We cannot tell you on here if the mortgage you mentioned is the best for you ans we do not know your full personal circumstances.0
