Choose one of the DDR400 options................not DDR333 as the 3.0 needs faster memory than the 2.8 due to the higher FSB speed.

Ah wait a minute if I select "256MB Dual Channel DDR400 (2x128MB)" then price stays at 178, but the error message is still there. Is it OK to ignore it?

Error should not be there..........blooming Dell site!!!! Is there a 1x256mb DDR400 option?

Please note it does not have to be dual channel however it will be slightly faster with memory running in dual channel mode.

I never got mine in in time, my basket just suddenly jumped from 178 to 307 pounds. Thanks anyway MikeT.
