I am want to buy a new Ford Focus. A friend has offered me her Grandpas discount voucher. How does this work. Who will own the car? Is the voucher allowed to be transferred to friends.
Thanks for any help.

hi, i have an uncle who gets vouchers too...dont worry about who owns the car, all that the voucher does is give discount, it doesnt split or give ownership[ to the other party who supplied the voucher. years ago you could only give vouchers to immediate family (kids, spouses etc)...however because they have seen the potential of seeling more cars irrrespective of who has the voucher they have opened it up to family not just immedaite family. so in this case you can use the voucher no problems, but you will need to pretend to be some kind of relative, dont let that daunt you. i have done the same, and to be honest, they knew i wasnt, but there is nothing that they can do, you dont have to prove anything, just comfirm you are by word of mouth in the showroom. hope this helps?0

Make sure you get a nectar card before you buy.
Test drive gets you 5000 points

thanks for info. Can I ask a couple more questions. Are you limited to one dealership is the discount off the list price i.e. if they are discounting the 2004 model will the discount be off the lower price? Finally how much is the discount voucher %age wise. Friend said she is will check out as they vary!

http://www.honestjohn.co.uk ask in 'The Backroom' in 'Discussion' great link for ALL things motoring.
I'm not sure how the voucher works, but as NEW Focus is now being well discounted & Ford are currently offering an over allowance of £2000 trade in - I'd certainly check out ALL my options, if I were you.
A discount isn't always a GOOD discount, if you can get it cheaper anyway!!

Went to a Ford dealer in Bridgend. The £2k trade in is only on non discounted cars - so they offered me £1200 for a car I could sell privately for £2k. They are advertising focus from £8995 but when you get to the showroom the cheapest is £10995.
Thanks for the honestjohn link I will check it out.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)
