Art as part of a pension portfolio

Being in the process of moving my existing pensions to a SIPP (thanks for all the posts - very useful) I'm considering my portfolio. I'd like to look at the option of adding some art to the mix and can't find anything up to date on the web in regard to this. Prior to 'A' day people were talking about this option and the likelihood that there would be tax implication, e.g. paying a proportion of the value of the art as a rental to the fund.
Does anyone know the up to date position on this?
thanks

I eventually found an answer to this. It turns out that our esteemed chancellor decided against any art, wine etc being included in a SIPP.
Oh well, just have to invest in something else

Well, you _could_ invest in art: you just don't get the tax benefits of having it a pension wrapper. Were you by any chance inspired by "The Grumpies Guide to Art", on TV the other night? Someone whose name escapes me at the mo said they'd bought a painting, and now they were really pleased that they hadn't just spent the spare cash on an ISA. And I must admit: for about a minute or two there, I did think "She has a point - it would be more interesting..."0
