  • Hiya

I love your frills spending spreadsheet, and have found it really useful to keep track of my spending. If you want honest feedback though, I preferred the old sheet as the new one is getting very complicated...

I am also not sure about the debtbuster sheet, as it does not include interest it gives a very oversimplified view which may not give people a true picture of how their debt is reducing. I have been working myself on a version which does include interest (cos I'm sad and I like spreadsheets!). I would be happy to e-mail it to you when it's finished if you like? It is necessarily a lot mere complicated but does give a more accurate picture.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, I think what you're doing is great and it has really inspired me.

Hi abitrubbish - thanks for your post - yes indeedy the spreadsheet is basic because some folks don't even have a basic spreadsheet to log their debt on... It is of course open to anyone to add to as needed, even if it's just notes on the side, or referring to statements. If I overcomplicate things, I may get folks saying 'I liked the old Debt Buster more as the new one has too many bells & whistles'... :rotfl:

Becks In Debt - have added some extra rows for you and should work fine now - check your e-mail and give it a go. :T

    Cheers
  • it is simple but clever, i have set up loads of spreadsheets for my debts but this is by far the best one, it really has made being in debt fun (in a totally weird way) CAB told me that with paying back the Min repayments that they have set up for me i would be debt free in 2016, with this spread sheet i can cut it down to early next year, obviously i could of done that with CAB but seeing 2016 just got me depressed, but seeing it like debt free in a year, i will def pay more each month and stick to it,
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU EAGERLEARNER

Sorry if I'm being a bit thick, but where does it take account of interest that's being charged?
    Thanks

Hi Wyebird - it doesn't take account of interest - this is a very simple spreadsheet for the main debt, that can then be modified to each persons needs - you may want to refer to statements etc re interest.

Felix - please PM me your e-mail address and I will add 4 more rows for you
