£99 is still a lot to lose if it's NBG. On the other hand, if anyone has used this and one of the leading brands and finds it just as good, well......
  • loads of people had problems with the evsham satnav from asda this looks the same . the voices sent you in the wrong directions on round about even thought the on screen it pointed somewhere else. battery life was bad discharged over night whilst switched off.

I have trialled quite a few satnav's including unbranded, I would definately recommend you stick with a brand that you know ie tomtom or garmin. I am using the tomtom one at present and I cant fault it. One was a yakumo, I connected it to my pc via usb, it failed to recognise it. I contacted customer services who told me that the usb port played no function!!! So I firmly believe, you get what you pay for.

Yes it does. I think "optional" refers to the fact you can search by postcode, street name, poi etc. I travel from supermarket to supermarket all over the northwest (I work in sales) & I used it for the 1st time today. It guided me around no problem. I understand how people say you get what you pay for, but for general use & for the money it seems a good buy (touch wood).

I wonder if you can unlock it & put tomtom software on it like you could the evesham?

Noticed a stack of sat-navs in my local Asda whilst zooming around tonight, BUT, can't for the life of me remember the make, just the price, £109. Checked their web site, but not listed. Sorry, sorry, sorry, another senior moment. If anyone else sees them, please put me out of my misery!
Second question of course, are they any good??? Cheap is not necessarily cheerful.
