Starting a business

Hi all,

I am looking to start an it repair business in my local area and have a friend who runs a local print shop who is willing to refer to me.

My question is how do i go about registering my business (Sole trader) and what do I need to do RE tax (I work full time).

Also do i HAVE to have a business bank account whilst I'm starting out? (as it might not get anywhere)

Go and talk to an accountant, I did six years ago, helped a lot and saved me a lot too.

You register as a sole trader with HMRC once you have some real work, not in advance in the hope that you will get some.

You do not need a business account if you trade under your own name: you can pay in a bit extra under the radar if it is not cash and there are not too many payments.
