I've entered, if I win I'll give half back!

Looks like a way to recruit new supporters anyway, you don't enter online, they send you a pack.

They must be guessing that over time this could bring in more money/support than they lose or they wouldn't be doing it.
  • I've entered, they obviously think they can recoup their money from the new contacts they make!

I feel a bit weird about this one. Has anyone managed to find any T&Cs?

Charities don't want to lose money anymore than businesses do, they will be running the competition for the same reason a company does, because the publicity/new contacts will lead to bringing more money in than they lose.

    Enter and give it back...simple.
Why do I think no-one will?

    When....

    1) You leave "Are you happy for us to contact you in the future by email?" unticked and you immediately get an email.

    2) The entry form implies you just need to enter your details to enter the draw then the email says you will be sent spam mail with an "entry card".

...it leaves you thinking it's all a bit deceptive and with that in mind it makes you wonder if KatieJJ is in any way related to Katie Johnson the Direct Marketing Executive at the British Lung Foundation or if it's just yet another amazing new member name coincidence?
Well, you know, my ancestry isn't all hamster.

By email after entering - and I didn't tick the box to agree to contact:

"Thanks for submitting your details for the prize draw. You will receive you entry pack in the post shortly. All you need to do is return your game card for a chance to win the £10,000"

Can't say for sure till it arrives, but I have a gut feeling that I will be filing their game card and entry pack in the recycle bin. In fact I just replied to their email "Sorry, but I don’t want the entry pack or whatever. I’ve changed my mind about entering your comp. Please unsubscribe me. Thanks."

Wish I'd gone with my gut feeling on this one.

Edit: except that their email was a 'no reply' one, so it bounced back :(

I meant it just seemed too good to be true. Have a feeling we may have to donate money first in order to enter the comp - just have a weird gut feeling about it.

I'd donate loads of money if I had it, but alas, I am a skint student :(
