Fudge as a gift

This is not the usual way as I consider it to be a very nice one (even if I hate the stuff!)
A member of the extended family is having an engagement party in Egypt in a couple of weeks. I have been asked by her sil if I can send out bits and pieces which they would normally not be able to get but as I have just come back from there, it is obviously impractical for me to fly there again so quickly.
As I won't be there, do you think sending some fudge would be a good thing to do, considering all of the yummy Arabic food they are going to have?

I'd certainly be delighted if I were in their position ...ooh yum.
I think it would go down very well there as Eastern sweets tend to be very sweet indeed, which fudge is too.Life is mainly froth and bubble

Have you checked the country's import restrictions? Some countries don't allow food imports. For example, I know that Australia and New Zealand are very strict. I had to take coloured pencils out of a gift to my grandson as they don't allow wood to be imported! Sorry to add a downer but worth checking before you go to so much trouble...
I think that Royal Mail have info on their site. Hope that it's ok as it's a very nice idea. (No gelatine in recipes mind, if they are muslim!)The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

I have inlaws in North Africa and its always chocolate that they love to get, as the chocolate out there is truly awful, unless they pay a fortune for imported stuff. You could maybe consider something with chocolate.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...
