I haven't had a late payment since 2010 I know thats not that long ago but only one. (It was by no means deliberate)

I think if you look at my report it is clear I have changed. I have three accounts nearly a year old which are all in green with rising credit limits which surely means I am doing right instead of wrong.

One late payment is not really a problem so you can ignore that then we're going back to 2008 which is more than 3 years ago. The CCJ being settled this year isn't ideal but if you can find someone to ignore that you'll be fine.

Why do you need 3 accounts?

A lender will be concerned that you re-offend again in the future (statistical evidence supports this likelihood).

  • When we wanted to buy a bigger house (we had inherited one) we didnt want to sell it so we instead decided to let it out but to get a re mortgage to stump up a big amount for a deposit on our new house. We didnt have bad credit but we didnt have good either, infact my partner had only ever had 1 loan and i had no form of credit so they went by bills i think. We found the mortgage works not too picky although they only offered us interest only.
    Well done and good luck.

Interest only is not a good idea unless you have a investment alongside..Its a disaster waiting to happen.
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
