    £46 gym
    £144 personal trainer

I know that I shouldn't have a trainer and gym and music but honestly gym and music are my 2 true joys in life!

How about trying running, it's free (if you have a pair of running shoes) and brilliant for keeping fit. Join your local club for some motivation and fun.

It would also give you something cheap / free to do in the evening rather than staying in.

Also I agree that you haven't reached your Lightbulb moment yet. It will come when you think "Whaaaat? I've been lining personal trainer/ gym owner/ DJ teacher's pockets instead of my own??"

You will get there you know. You have a lot of discretionary spending there so once you set your mind to it, you can do it!:)
  • Look at places like PureGym, I'm sure they have branches in London and they're less than £25 per month. Ditch the personal trainer and sort out your own plan online - they're not doing anything you can't do yourself!

Me and my OH spend <£200 a month on groceries and that includes toiletries, pet food, and a few sneaky bottles of wine and cider in there too. You can cut down!

OP, I really don't think you've had your LBM yet. You earn a great salary, you can pay all of this off in <5 years without sacrificing your fun. There are plenty of cheap things to do, you just have to find them :) Good Luck!!

  • Thanks guys for all the posts.

Another point that needs to be raised is I am not contributing to my pension. I should be contributing at least 15% of my income which is £280.50 (half of my age as a %).

I will really have to work on my budget now.

I would clear your debt first

Worry about a pension in 2 or 3 years then you will have a LOT more to put into the pension pot (I actually had a typo and typed pit)

Can anyone suggest a good website that I can use for my budget - I find that budget brain is good for my yearly budget but I want something for day to day as I want to keep track on a day to day basis as money moves out of my account.

  • Absolutely. I am adding Lloyds TSB credit card as a recipient on my current account as we speak - I don't want there to be any temptation when they transfer the bonus :) its going directly into the credit card.

I have also got a buyer for my MacBook for £750 and Dell laptop for £250 so things are looking up!

I have also cut up both the virgin and lloyds cards and will decrease the balance once I move the money across.
