Credit check - just a quick one

Options
To all you helpful lovely people out there.

When you have a credit check, does it include things like payment of utilities, rent etc. or is it purely credit commitments, credit cards, loans, store cards, mobile phones etc?

Get hold of your credit files and have a look. It costs a statutory £2 for each of the three main agencies to send you copies of your file. From memory utilities do not appear, unless of course you are subject to CCJs etc to cover unpaid bills. The credit file holds details of addressess, both current and previous, names, those people with whom you are financially linked, previous searches (Up to 6 months), current debts (inc mortgage) and the balance and monthly payment and whether you have missed any payments. All old credit details up to six years after they are finished/closed. Details of CCJs, bankruptcies etc. Definately worth getting hold of copies of them if you have never seen them. I think Experian had an offer where you could sign up online to see your file for free.
