These are the scoops and liquid dosing balls I think. I don't think that anyone does the powder dosing balls that they used to do.0 -

Straight in the drum. If it's leaving streaks all over your clothes you're probably using too much at too low a temperature. For once-worn clothes not noticeably stained you can easily cut the manufacturer's recommended dosage by at least half with no discernible difference.
The person who always pre-washes every laundry-load is either washing really filthily putrid clothing or they're wasting their money on both detergent and electricity. I know which option I'd be putting my money on0 -
