should i reply or ignore this letter from Link?

about 6 months ago Link Financial contacted me chasing a debt from about 8 or 9 years ago.
I checked and found that this debt is statute barred.
I told them that i acknowledge no debt to them and that any such debt would now be statute barred.
I heard nothing from them until today.
They have written to me today saying that i made several payments in 2006 and a couple in 2007 and as such the debt is not statute barred.
There is no way i made any such payments.
It is obvious lies from them. Should i bother replying or just ignore their letter.
thanks in advance

yes, and they have started writing again.
thats why im asking if i should just ignore them this timefind a deal....pass it on :beer:0 -
either ignore
or tell them to provide proof that you made these payments. tell them that you want the proof they will take to court as you are prepared to challenge their made up payments there if neccessary. making up false payments would beach CPTUR 2008. would be against oft guidlines. and could even be fraud
they must know they are making them up so just chancing their arm really0 -
i think i will ignore it for now on. anyone else got any advise?find a deal....pass it on :beer:0
