Are you still contributing to the mortgage?
Were you married to your 'ex', or were you just co-habiting?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
no im afraid i think you are pretty stuck especially as there is no equity in the property but the worst thing is probably that your credit rating has been destroyed with the mortgage not being paid its likely that the property will be repossessed shortly anyway so at least you will be free of the mortgage unfortunately this means you will be renting for the next 10 years as no bank will lend you money worse if there is no equity in the property and it is sold at a loss you will have to pay the bank the shortfall as it is a joint responsibility although if your ex is going bankrupt then they may try and chase you for all of it not good i hope you understand this i didnt use punctuation eitherThe J is a Financial Advisor-This site doesn't check anyone's status and as such any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice.
