Company Drector and mortgage application

A hypothetical question for the mortgage brokers.

If one is a company director of a limited company, receiving a salary, dividend, profit share arrangement as income.

What effect does this have on a mortgage application vs being a normal salary receiving employee without the "director" title/responsibilities?

I suspect it may have some effect, but not sure what.

Thanks

Rather than 3 months payslips you would need 1-3 years accounts.
