I bought mine a week ago, but it wasn't in the wine section, there was a stand at the end of the chilled foods, near the yogurts & stuff! It had all 3 varieties on & it was a double rack. I wish I had bought more now! Will be going to try & find some more later!!

Hope you manage to find some! xx

EXACTLY where you said. Thank you!

I actually noticed the promotion a few weeks ago, I have bought quite a few bottles My Local Asda seem to have loads then out of stock then loads, in my personal opinion( only talking about the rose and white now) probably not an exquisite wine but absolutely fab for bbq's and parties as after the second glass my guests dont even notice the taste, I also tend to mix them with flavoured sparkling water, this works extremely well with the rose I just add a splash of (rasberry and blackcurrent I think) sparkling water 40p a bottle makes a refreshing spritzer definitely worth getting if you are not a fussy wine drinker lol im always on the lookout for them at asda.
LOVE isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live WITHOUT

This really is cooking wine only :)

tbh you shouldnt really cook with a wine that you wouldn't actually drink IF you want things to have a nice flavour. But yeah to plonk it into a spag bol or stew just to add a little richness to get rid of it, maybe. If I really don't like a wine I sling it rather than ruin good food. That's probably just me tho :)

I bought this wine when it was on 3 for £10 and thought it was fine, bought several bottles now for £2.50 (all three varieties on an end promo stand at the end of the wine aisle). For £2.50 me and OH find it an easy drinking vino for a weekend - we have slightly diff tastes and this is a decent medium between the two - although totally agree that everyone's taste is different.

I only tasted the red and never found it tasteless, but accept all our taste buds aren't the same.
The red is worth buying @ £2.50 in my opinion, but if it's not to your taste, then a £2.50 waste and yes, better spending more on something you like and have a taste for.
Are you talking about all 3 types being tasteless??
BTW, what wines would you personally recommend at the bottom end, it will/may help some of us.

My personal recommendation is as above, Faustino V11 when Asda sell it for £4. I don't and won't spend over £5 on a bottle of wine, though I don't drink loads of alcohol.

Just wanted to let you know I had the Faustino pointed out to me on friday by someone who works on the bws, he knows it's one of my favourites and it was marked down from £6.48ish to £4.48:) Hopefully be able to grab a box today and will get a couple of £2.50 reds also as they make a great second bottle :)

It doesn't sound like it! :rotfl:Thank you for that useless unconstructive comment, but this is only what some people can afford the way things are at the moment. Especially if the purse strings are tight. At least let people have people some pleasure, or are you an MP?! I would try it for £2.50 a bottle with pleasure.

Was that really called for?, it's useless, unconstructive comments like YOURS that make people think twice about posting comments.

If your looking for cheap wine then go for the silverpoint white for £1.74 a bottle at Tesco, and if you buy 6 you get an extra 25% off.

And I'm neither a snob or an MP, but a humble Military wife!

    Hi Lynsey,

And thank you for being a bit kinder with your words :)
I never pay more than £5 too for a bottle of wine, I flitter between what's on offer, hence why I tried this one.
I was just referring to the white, but if you say the red is good, I will have a punt at that.
I love marques de caceres Rioja, but ONLY when it's on offer.

  • Thanks op I bought a bottle of the rose and found it rather nice :T will stock up on some more is this a special offer or will it always be this price does anybody know ? It didn't have a reduced SEL in my store it just had a normal one for £2:50.

Thank you Sarah, I'll have a look at that.
Rioja's my favourite and thanks laura1976, only a tad over target.
