Short Term £5000 Advance

I need £5,000 to finish a House Extension i do not want to add that figure to my mortgage or even take out a bank loan, If i goto my HSBC CreditCard and withdraw £5,000 cash and the same day balance xfer the amount onto my Halifax One Card 0 % will this be the cheapest method ? I have funds to pay off the full amount in December so it`s a short term way to get the cash now. I understand it may take few days for the amount to show up on my HSBC Creditcard statement and maybe liable for a few days interest as it`s a cash advance . Anyone guide me on this please

Thanks In Advance

Just a thought but why don't you do the balance transfer BEFORE you spend. That way (I think - I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong) you will not be charged any interest.

EDIT: Just reread your post. If you do a cash advance you are normally charged a fee, but if you have a card that let's you SBT to your bank account you can avoid it.
