I've never used them but they seem ok on the face of it especially as you can pick up your purchases from their warehouse.

A few points to bear in mind though:

    1. Their prices don't include VAT. They will also charge VAT on any delivery cost.
    2. According to their website 'If you are not satisfied with the order you have received from us you may return it to us within 7 days of delivery at your cost and risk.' That is wrong and not in accordance with Distance Selling Regulations which state that you have up to seven days to inform them if you wish to return items.

    3. Their Domain Registration says that it has been registered by a non-trading individual. Which, of course, is not true.

  • what concerns me is that all the reviews of this company I can find are good ones and listed on their site, most companys who sell thousands of products usually get one negative over the years and when a company dont have any they seem too good to be true.

Unless it's somewhere like Amazon where they don't filter out the nasty ones you should take reviews on companies' own websites with a very large pinch of salt. Similarly review sites like Trust Pilot should be avoided because they allow merchants to vet reviews in return for a fee.

You'd be far better off typing into Google, Bing etc the name of the website followed by the word 'scam' and seeing what comes up.
  • just an update so that if anyone else wants to use this company.
ordered friday afternoon delivery monday morning by ukmail.com they deliver 8am-8pm and do not telephone you before delivery with a time slot etc even if you ask them to.
    items ordered:
2 rolls of envirolay, felt wool 54 oz carpet underlay 15 sqm per roll £26.99 each, the carpet fitter said this is sold @ £17 per metre in carpet shops.
2 packs 9.6sq m in each of fibre board to use under parquet or laminate flooring £13.89 each, 2 boards had a little damage on one edge but were used whre boards had to be cut.
3 sheets of dampproof membrane 20sqm in each £9.99 each
5 gold coloured door plates £1.99 each
    delivery £16.95
all are excellent value for money, I thought this was too good to be true and did more checking on the company, I also sent 2 emails before ordering but none were answered and took a chance.
all the above is plus vat

very pleased with the products and money saved, their only let down is poor communication.

I spoke with them on the phone, they seem legit. Have ordered from them and will let you know how it goes. I agree, the prices seem to be good to be true!
Thanks for your post, it reassured me! As I did not do any checks before I ordered!
  • Hi, interesting experience. I've also bought online, and the savings over the high street have been excellent. I've used allaboutunderlay.co.uk which does include VAT in their prices, seems to be pretty good at answering emails thoroughly and promptly, and delivers the next day.
  • Please be aware that most fitters charge extra to fit underlay and grippers if customer provides own
  • my fitter didnt charge extra but I did explain the job thoroughly over the phone and the price he quoted was what he charged and he did a superb job.

I did forget to tell him what underlay I was using, the wool felt is just heavy and much thicker so harder to cut.
