Hi,
No, they don't cap what you can overpay. I overpaid on mine 3 weeks ago (15k) without any hassle. You get the choice of lowering the monthly payment or shortening the term of the loan, depending obviously on the amount you overpay. If you don't stipulate which option you'd like, they default to lowering the monthly payment. Your first payment after an over payment remains the same as your original payment amount, and your new lower payment takes effect from the month after that.
