Thanks for that last link Gurj. I love me a good spread sheet
Been having a play with both charts and I think it will be a great help. Already I can see if I want to be at £139,999.99 by 1st January I'll need to find an extra £205.83 to add to the £2500 I was planning to overpay by haha :rotfl:Originally October 2042 // Goal December 2032Currently at £127,500
End of fix goal: £75,000 by September 20240 -

I have sent you an blank spend tracker so you can monitor where you are actually spending your money rather than where you think you are.
The Mortgage Calculator - best to make your own using the link I shared earlier.MissCreative wrote: »Thanks for that last link Gurj. I love me a good spread sheet

This was what made me start to keep a track of what our spending habits were. once I knew what they were I looked at moving bank accounts, credit cards etc, basically streamlining all my finances, getting cards with cashback etc. every little helps.Date of Update – 08/04/19

So another two years have passed and well the effort has continued.
So the way things are looking I could technically be mortgage free this month (if I overpaid the last bit and paid the early repayment charge), but I am not doing that as the interest costs until Feb 19 (when my mortgage runs out) is less than the early repayment fee.
The journey has not been easy, as it has resulted in arguments on occasions as wife wants nice holidays and buying nice things for my daughter, but simply put the mortgage has come first.
Don't get me wrong we have had some holidays and my daughter has not wanted for anything (Asda George clothing is great) and has enough toys to play with, without being too excessive.
I now look forward to saving up for my 40th Birthday present to myself :-)Date of Update – 08/04/19
