Forgive me for replying again to one of your posts about mattresses, I'm sure you would like a view point from someone else, who's not in the trade.

But I just wanted to point out that "Posturpedic" is just a name given to the type of Open Coil spring that Sealy use. It's very very similar to Silentnight's Miracoil. It's a continous spring unit, 1 piece of wire makes up all of the springs, but the springs are half the size of those found in a standard open coil. Open coil has 288 springs, contin has about 570.

It's still not as good as a pocket system.

Also Silentnight make Sealy! They are part of the same group along with Layezzee and Rest Assured.

A mattress is only pocket sprung if it says so, if it says Posturpedic then it's doubtful that it'll be a pocket.

Thanks again for your reply. Is there a rough guide to how many springs should there be in a king and superking size mattress.

we are looking to buy both but confused as hell to be honest. We really liked on in bensons for beds (airflow 2000) but when googled it comes with horrible reviews with alll saying that mattress collapses in few months. King one is for guest bedroom so we want something slightly cheaper, but still prefer pocket sprung. thanks a lot

    Open Conti
    around
    Single 192 388
    Double 288 570
    King 351 700

Superking 400 800 bit of a guess on this one!

Ideally look for a pocket mattress with 1000 springs or more, but the spring count is Alwyas done ona 5ft mattress. So a 1200 pocket single mattress, will not have 1200 springs in it. Likewise a Superking will have more then 1200.
